Pre-Production
To create the game map we took inspiration from a pre-production technique used by the developers of Blasphemous.
This technique involved using post-its and writing a room intention on them.


our Sketches:
During the pre-prod phase, we first drew inspiration from other metroid-vania games, such as Metroid prime, Hollow knight, ...
By collecting a large number of macro map references, we were able to draw inspiration from the layout of the rooms.
The first level was intended to be a tutorial on jumping and controlling your character, but ends with you obtaining your first clamp: the force clamp.
